Technicians -08 nos.  & Critical Care Technicians-12 nos) & also provides 2 years Paramedical training courses separately for critical care technicians & anaesthesia technology.

The Department provides anaesthesia services for various surgical specialties viz.General Surgery, Neuorosurgery, Orthopaedics & Trauma Surgery , ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthamology  etc.

Besides, catering services to various surgical departments, he departments also provide anesthetic & critical care management to patients in Radio diagnosis (MRI, CT Scan), Phychiatry (ECT), Cardiology (Cathlab) & round the clock resuscitative services  in Emergency Room, Wards & various other in-hospital areas.

Apart from in-hospital  patient care services, the department also serves the neighbors  & peripheral parts of Jorhat providing anaesthetic & critical care managements. Doctors are posted periodically in peripheral health care centres from the department & provides hands on training to doctors there.

Presently, the department is running simultaneously twelve OT  tables for  both elective & emergency cases apart from having ninety-six (96) dedicated ICU beds. The department also runs a pre-anaesthetic clinic & pain clinic from Monday to Saturday.

Moreover, besides in-hospital & out of the hospital patient care services, the faculties of the department conduct regular theoretical classes for both UGs & PGs students, the departmental faculties leave no stone unturned to conduct regular seminars, journal clubs, workshops for the PG trainees in the morning (7 am –9 am) & evening (4 pm -6 pm) in the department.
