Pharmacology

Last Updated on:

Pharmacology is a branch of science related to the study of all aspects of drugs. Since the inception of Jorhat Medical College & Hospital, the Department of Pharmacology has been significantly contributing to the undergraduate (MBBS) teaching and postgraduate training and research on Pharmacology. Faculties are also engaged as guest lecturer in various institutes for Bachelor in Physiotherapy (BPT) course and other paramedical courses. The department is also contributing to various patient safety services by regular prescription audit exercises and adverse drug reactions monitoring and reporting under the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). Various research works that have been done by the department were related to the fields of clinical pharmacology, pre-clinical/experimental pharmacology, meta analyses, KAP studies, ethnopharmacology etc.
